An insurance broker who overcharged Hollywood star Tom Hanks (below) and his wife Rita Wilson by hundreds of thousands of dollars has been jailed.
City News Service said Jerry Goldman (60) received a 27-month sentence and was ordered to pay about €390,000 in damages.
Prosecutors said between 1998 and 2011, Goldman inflated premiums by up to 600pc and created fake invoices to hide the scam.
The indictment said Goldman also conned others, including former guitarist for The Police, Andy Summers.
Goldman, of Thousand Oaks, southern California, pleaded guilty in April to mail fraud involving Hanks and Wilson.
