In brief: Ross raps BBC boss's memory

Jonathan Ross accused the chairman of the BBC Trust of having "a very bad memory" after Michael Lyons delivered a strongly worded criticism of the Sachsgate scandal.

Lyons said the furore, caused by Ross and Russell Brand leaving obscene messages on Andrew Sachs' answerphone was a "uniquely toxic combination of profanity, misogyny, bullying and black farce".

But Ross defended himself on Twitter, wrote: "Hmmm. Michael Lyons comments re Russell and I very interesting. And nothing like the view he expressed to me at the BBC at the time. He must have a very bad memory. Or none at all..."

'Tsunami made

fish go crazy'

Masses of sardines, anchovies, bass and mackerel surged close to shore on one beach in the Mexican resort city of Acapulco, packed so tightly near the surface they looked like an oil slick from above.

Delighted fishermen rushed out in wooden boats, abandoning their rods and nets and simply scooping the fish up with buckets.

The fishermen attributed the phenomenon to the unusual currents unleashed by the Japanese tsunami.
