In brief: Families face water shortage

SOME Dublin city areas will have disruptions to their water supply tomorrow because of mains works.

There will be reduced water pressures and a "possible total loss of supply" in some areas, including Navan Road from Ashtown to the Cabra Road and surrounding areas, including Ashington, Ashtown, Kempton, The Paddocks, Nephin Road, Hampton and Blackhorse Avenue.

The city council said it will provide a number of mobile water tankers.

The work is being carried out on a trunk water main by the Dublin Region Water Mains Rehabilitation Project for Fingal County Council.

"All efforts will be made to carry out the work in the optimum time and to minimise disruption as far as is possible," the city council said.
