A 15-YEAR-OLD boy has been accused of causing at least €25,000 worth of damages in connection with the theft of a Mercedes car in Co Dublin.

The boy appeared at the Dublin Children's Court where he has been charged with stealing a '11-registered Mercedes Benz at Moylaragh Crescent in Balbriggan, on April 23 last. He is accused of criminal damage to '02-registered Hyundai Lantra at the same location.

The boy is also accused of criminal damage to '1-registered Opel Meriva, at Westbrook Rise, in Balbriggan and faces charges for driving without insurance or a licence.

Judge Ann Ryan ordered the boy, who is on bail, to appear next month to determine the venue for his trial.

Child is shot dead at cinema

A 10-YEAR-OLD boy killed inside a Mexico City movie theatre was hit by a stray bullet that was fired outside the building, authorities have said.

Prosecutor Edmundo Garrido said Hendrik Cuacuas was hit in the head by a 9-mm bullet at a theatre in Iztapalapa.

Hendrik was watching the animated Disney film Wreck-It Ralph when he died on November 2, but the case didn't get any attention until his father went to the media this week.

The bullet passed through the building's laminate roof, then pierced a ceiling and travelled to the upper right side of the child's head, ballistics expert Anselmo Apodaca said.
