Singer Daniel O'Donnell is looking forward to spending even more time with his family next year after deciding to dramatically cut back on touring.
The 57-year-old has spoken about the joy his wife Majella's two children and grandchildren have brought to his life.
The pair met on holiday in Tenerife before tying the knot in Kincasslagh, Co Donegal, three years later, in November 2002.
Daniel was 40 when he married the divorced mother-of-two.
In an interview with My Weekly magazine, he said: "The children have been a joy to me. Their father is very much a part of their lives, but there was never any friction there."
He said Majella's daughter Siobhan has two children and he loves to see them.
"I feel it's time to get a different balance, so next year I'm taking a lot more time off. I just want to have time to enjoy the grandchildren and to be able to do things at the drop of the hat," he said.
"I'd love to continue performing, and I don't ever see myself saying 'I'm retired', but maybe more free time is what I'm looking to now - to slow down."
However, two aspects of his life he admits could be improved next year are his diet and fitness regime.
"I try to eat healthily, but I don't always manage it. I'm not a big fan of vegetables. Generally, when I get them, I eat them first just to get them out of the way," he added.
He also admitted he always finds an excuse not to go to the gym, saying: "I keep saying I must go, but here I am heading up to 60 and I've never really done it."
