Love/Hate star Mary Murray winces when she thinks of her family watching the raunchy scenes involving her character, brothel madam Janet, who's having an affair with gang boss Nidge.
"It's cringy just to even think about it," she said.
She doesn't think her mother or five brothers and sisters find it too comfortable to watch those scenes.
"I don't think any family member would find that too easy," she conceded.
Nevertheless, Tom Vaughan Lawlor as Nidge is definitely her favourite character.
"It's his energy. It's the drive. It's the ambition. I don't think there's any woman on the planet who doesn't love a man with that kind of energy," she said.
Mary (35) has no problem with her character being a madam, and when it comes to Janet's clothes "I'm open to anything and everything. I love stepping into character, whether that entails the most hideous costumes or the most delightful ones".
The two women in Nidge's life have talked about some of the secrets of their opposing roles in an interview with the latest VIP magazine.
Aoibhinn McGinnity (29), as Nidge's wife Trish, has become totally involved in her character.
"I'm emotionally involved in all of Love/Hate because it's such a special job for me," she said.
In real life, however, Aoibhinn describes herself as "a bit of a nerdy pants" and has never done drugs.
"I'd hate to be tarnished with such a horrible brush. Plus, one glass of wine gets me pretty much going. I'm a bit of a lightweight, so that's enough for me," she admitted.
