Hundreds turn up to enjoy annual party for homeless

HUNDREDS of people attended the Dublin Lions Club 'Eric's Party for the Homeless'.

The event, which has been running in Dublin for more than 50 years, was also attended by President Mary McAleese and her husband Dr Martin McAleese.

The dinner party took place in Irish Life off Abbey Street on Friday night and was a major success with over 400 people at the party. Guests included Inspector Tom Mulligan and Inspector Jo O'Leary from nearby Store Street Garda Station.

Numbers for the event have increased in the last couple of years due to the recession and economic downturn. The Dublin Lions Club would like to thank everybody who supported the event.
