Hotel-fall Irishman on mend

A YOUNG Irishman is due to be discharged from hospital later today after miraculously surviving a 20ft fall from a hotel balcony in Majorca.

The 22-year-old tourist, who has not been named, was treated for head injuries and concussion after he reportedly tried to climb from one room to another to escape a fight.

He plunged from a second-floor balcony in the Santa Ponsa resort on the Spanish holiday island after a night out last Friday.

Doctors said he was being treated for head injuries and concussion, but hoped to discharge him later today.
