Hoarding the e-waste

IRELAND may have topped the charts of EU recycling targets but homeowners are still hoarding 10pc of WEEE (electrical and electronic equipment) waste.

Irish people recycled almost 8kg of WEEE recycled by Irish people in 2012 compared to the EU recycling target of 4kg per person. Some 10pc of Irish people hoard e-waste at home, including an average of over 110 batteries per household.
