HIV threats of serial shoplifter

A DRUG addict with 221 previous convictions bit a security guard and threatened to infect him with HIV.

Denise McNulty (33) of St Mary's Mansion, Railway Street, Dublin pleaded guilty to assault and theft on Grafton Street and possession of a syringe on Baggot Street. She is to be sentenced later at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

The court heard she was challenged by Boots security guard Amor Hussein after he saw her put four bottles of perfume in her bag. She bit Mr Hussein on the hand and said: "I'll murder you. I'll infect you with HIV. I know who you are and I'll have you killed."

She threatened a woman with a syringe at an ATM on a later date, the court heard.
