Half of us still dine out

ALMOST half of the population is continuing to eat out at least once a month, despite the squeeze on their take-home pay.

Diners are more willing to express their dissatisfaction with 80pc querying an item on a bill, according to a new Bord Bia survey, Just Ask. The research showed 81pc of Irish consumers believe it is important that restaurants use local produce, with 72pc saying the origin of the meat should be listed on the menu.
