Google centre go-ahead

GOOGLE has been given the green light by South Dublin County Council to build a €150m data centre. It will be located beside an existing facility opened in 2012 in Clondalkin.

The centre will involve the construction of a 30,361 sq m two-storey data storage facility and additional outbuildings.

The new build will create an estimated 300 construction jobs as well as 60 full-time jobs at the data centre itself.
