Girl's assault case adjourned

A GIRL, who kicked a woman in the head during a random street attack in Dublin and allegedly sent her a Facebook "friend request" afterwards, has had sentencing adjourned.

The 16-year-old has pleaded guilty at the Children's Court to assault causing harm to the woman, during an unprovoked attack at the Jervis Street Luas stop, in Dublin city-centre, on March 12 last year.

Judge Ann Ryan adjourned the case until next month when it will be listed along with other charges that have yet to be dealt with.

The girl was remanded on continuing bail.

The court has already heard that the girl has been attending a clinic which helps young people with behavioural problems.

Grant admits dance passion

HUGH Grant has joked that he would take to the floor and indulge his "secret fantasy" of going on Strictly Come Dancing.

The Notting Hill star hinted to Tom Bradby on ITV1's The Agenda that he would rather go on the BBC1 show than any other reality television programme.

When asked if he would follow in Conservative MP Nadine Dorries' footsteps and go on I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!, he said: "It probably isn't the most dignified thing you can do as an MP. I've always wanted to be on the dancing one myself. That's my secret fantasy."

Grant was on the programme to discuss the BBC and press regulation.
