A LITTLE girl suffered a serious leg injury after she was struck by a van which then drove away from the scene.
The incident happened at a pedestrian crossing on the inbound lane of the Malahide Road, at Darndale roundabout, at around 7.45pm yesterday. Dublin Fire Brigade dispatched a unit to the scene and the six-year-old girl was later taken to Temple Street Hospital with serious injuries, including a leg injury.
The van, which has been described as old and dark coloured, possibly green, failed to remain at the scene and continued driving towards the city.
Gardai in Coolock have launched an investigation into the incident and have asked anyone with any information to get in touch with them.
