Giant's Causeway is pull for 300k visitors

THE Giant's Causeway visitor centre has welcomed its 300,000th visitor only four months after opening.

The National Trust revealed that the €22.8m project, which opened on July 3, has had an 'astounding' number of visitors from more than 130 countries.

The news comes on the back of statistics that show that the Titanic Belfast visitor attraction has also surpassed all its first year targets.

The coming year will be a busy one for Northern Ireland as Derry is named the City of Culture and Fermanagh will play host to the G8 Summit. The Northern Ireland Tourist Board's market manager Fiona Cunningham said: "It has been a busy few months for the north coast which also included the hugely successful Irish Open golf, FLAGS at the Giant's Causeway and Peace Camp, a series of installations on the North Antrim coast."
