World Cup winning football star Bastian Schweinsteiger has paid tribute to Niccolai Schuster, one of the six victims of the Berkeley balcony tragedy.
The Bayern Munich midfielder sent his condolences to the Schuster family and all the victims of the Berkeley tragedy in a post on his official Facebook page.
Sharing an image of himself alongside Niccolai Schuster to his seven million followers, the German star said news of the tragic events in Berkeley had left him devastated.
"This news makes me very sad. I wish you, the family and Nick’s relatives strength at this very difficult time," he wrote.
“I would also like to express my condolences to all the other victims of this accident.”
The World Cup winner paid tribute to Niccolai, and the other five Berkeley victims, after he was sent a message from the young Irishman's friends.
Irish-American Ashley Donohoe (22), who died along with her cousin Olivia Burke (21), from Dublin, in the accident, will be laid to rest on Saturday at Rhonart in her home county of Marin.
A service for Olivia will also be held prior to her body being brought home.
