Gatecrash couple heading for divorce over wife's 'rock affair'

White House gatecrasher Tareq Salahi has filed for divorce, claiming his wife was flaunting her affair with the guitarist for rock band Journey.

Salahi said his wife Michaele abandoned the marriage when she left their Virginia home to join Neal Schon in Tennessee.

The Salahis gained notoriety in 2009 when they gatecrashed a White House state dinner. Michaele Salahi was a cast member of the reality show Real Housewives of DC but the show was cancelled after one season. She was later thrown off Celebrity Rehab With Dr Drew.

Mr Salahi feared his wife was missing on the day she reportedly ran off with Schon. He told police she had been kidnapped, but authorities found she was "where she wanted to be".

Court documents say the couple had a pre-nuptial agreement, but the terms were not specified. The couple was married in November 2003.

Mr Salahi said in the court filing that Schon was his wife's former boyfriend. Schon's band had played at the couple's northern Virginia winery and photos on social networking websites show them partying with the band on several occasions.
