Gardai quiz lawyer over nurse's killing

A MAN arrested by gardai investigating the fatal stabbing of a Romanian nurse in Dublin underwent further questioning by gardai early today.

The man, believed to be a 48-year-old Romanian lawyer, was arrested yesterday after he was deemed well enough following treatment in hospital for a self-inflicted knife wound to his neck.

He was expected to be charged in connection with the killing.

Loradena Pricajan (32) was found dead with up to 20 stab wounds to her body, head and neck lying under a bloodied sheet in an apartment rented by the lawyer in the Irish Management Institute complex in Sandyford last Thursday.

It is believed Ms Pricajan had ended a relationship with the man.

She had worked in Ireland for around six years and was employed at the Ailesbury nursing home on the south side of Dublin.

Friends said they understood the man had wanted to renew a relationship with her and wanted her to return to her home in Romania.
