Gardai hunt 'hefty lady' in gas theft

Gardai are hunting a suspected thief they describe as a "hefty blonde lady".

The tall blonde has stunned investigators with her "Herculean" strength during a brazen robbery.

The woman, who in her 20s, lifted four heavy bottles of gas and pitched them on to the roof rack of her car during a theft in Limerick.

After viewing CCTV footage which caught the woman in action, gardai posted a "wanted person" alert on the Pulse system.

It describes "a hefty blonde lady," the Irish Examiner reported.

She pulled up outside Moss the Farmer's Spar shop on the Killarney road in Abbeyfeale at 5.50pm.

Shop owner James Harnett said: "She was gone so quickly that she had left before we realised she hadn't paid for the gas.

"The cylinders cost over €30 each and the fill of gas about €30, so the loss is about €240."
