Fans of Damien Dempsey had quite the surprise on Saturday night when he was joined on stage by two famous friends.

The Almighty Love singer was playing Dublin's Vicar Street as part of his current tour when the crowd were treated to a special performance of The Frames classic Revelation with Sinead O'Connor and Glen Hansard.

Sinead (inset) played her own concert at the venue last week and returned to treat fans to an impromptu collaboration.

Meanwhile, Glen - who is known for busking with Bono on Christmas Eve - treated fans to a surprise a cappella performance in George's Street Arcade on Friday.

Arcade Popular acapella group, The Trinitones were singing in the arcade when Glen stopped to listen to them.

The group invited Glen to sing with them and they performed a beautiful rendition of The Auld Triangle.

The song is one of Glen's favourites, which he most recently sang with Damien Dempsey at the Right2Water protest in Dublin this month and for Ceiliuradh in London's Royal Albert Hall earlier in 2014.
