G-Mac ties the knot in Bahamas

GOLF star Graeme McDowell has told of his joy at getting married to his beautiful bride in the Bahamas.

The professional wed Kristin Stape at the weekend and has now shared a photo (left) of the two of them looking very happy with his followers on Twitter.

And it wasn't just the bride who wore white for the event.

The Portrush star also looked dapper in an off-white suit with a large pink rose in his lapel.

The bride for her part looked absolutely stunning with a sweetheart neckline dress with lace detail, with an elaborate Swarovski belt detail beneath the bust.

She didn't go for a veil, but opted for a floral headpiece and pearl earrings, and she wore her hair loose and natural for the big day.

McDowell tweeted that the photo summed up the weekend. "Happy and in love with @kristinstape," he said.

And he added that he and his new wife had an amazing weekend.

"She made me a very happy man," he told his 533,694 followers, as the congratulations on his nuptials flooded in.

He met the American interior decorator when her company worked on his house at the Lake Nona golf estate in Florida.

It's a year since the golfer popped the question on the Burj Al Arab helipad in Dubai.

It's been a great year for the pro both on and off the golf course.

McDowell already has three victories to his name this year.
