Actor Timothy V Murphy has left the bright lights of Hollywood behind to spend some quality time with his family in Kerry.
The True Detective actor has returned to the Kingdom to visit his parents in his home town of Tralee.
The screen star, who previously starred in iconic Irish series Glenroe, is currently filming a new TV show called The Bastard Executioner in Wales and took advantage of being only a short plane trip away from Ireland by jetting home for a few days.
Tim embarked on a road trip of the scenic Kerry coast, travelling through Tralee Bay, Brandon and Blennerville, before stopping off in Dingle to sample some of the seaside town's famous seafood.
Over the weekend, the US-based actor - who is known for playing a stereotypical bad guy in a range of hit shows, including Criminal Minds and Sons of Anarchy - also tuned in to the Gaelic football championship semi-final to see Kerry secure their place in the All-Ireland decider.
"Walk on lonely Banna Strand with the folks, roast lamb in Kate Browne's for lunch, watched Kerry beat Tyrone with my brother Denis, great day," Tim said.
Murphy recently said he would be returning to Ireland after welcoming his first child in July.
Tim's 32-year-old girlfriend Caitlin Manley gave birth to the couple's son Sean two months ago, with the actor announcing the happy news on social media and through a statement to People magazine.
"Caitlin and I are delighted to announce the arrival of our son, Sean Fionn Murphy, into the world on July 22, weighing in at seven-and-a-half pounds," he said.
Speaking ahead of the birth, Tim said that becoming a dad at 55 was "better late than never".
"I have a steady woman now, which is good. I'm a bit of a late starter alright, but sure better late than never though," he said.
"I've got a young woman so she can do all the running around - she's 32.
"She's Boston-Irish, so they're quite similar to us and she's got a good sense of humour," Tim gushed.
The remainder of 2015 looks set to be a busy one for Murphy as he juggles late-night feeds and nappy changing with the rest of filming for the 10 episodes of The Bastard Executioner.
