Four held after attack man dies in hospital

GARDAI have launched a murder inquiry after a Polish man who was assaulted lost his fight for life.

Krzysztof Ciesielski (41) died after spending almost a week in intensive care.

Following his death, gardai arrested four people.

The Polish man was left with serious head injuries in an assault in Galway last week.

He died at University Hospital Galway after his life support was switched off.


A post-mortem revealed he died as a result of a severe assault.

Following his death, gardai arrested three men and one woman for questioning.

The man, who is in his 40s, and two male teenagers were held under section 4 of the criminal justice act.

A woman in her 30s is also being detained.

Mr Ciesielski was the father of a young family.
