Former 007 star Pierce Brosnan has revealed how his personalised Aston Martin from his Bond days was destroyed in a fire at his Malibu home.
The metal inscription plates on his prized 2002 Aston Martin V12 Vanquish are all that survived the blaze.
He took to his Instagram account to post pictures of the custom plates from the hand built supercar but counted his blessings as no one was hurt in the which made headlines around the world.
"All that remains...of a very great Aston Martin...she was a beauty...however, a car is just a car...a life, is a precious gift of Beauty and holiness," he wrote.
The silver plates had the inscription: "V12 Vanquish. Handbuilt in England for Pierce Brosnan."
He is understood to have received the quintessential British car after the filming in the blockbuster Die Another Day where his James Bond character was issued with an Aston Martin full of gadgets by Q, who was played by John Cleese.
The last time the Meath actor was seen at the wheel in California in a picture he posted on his Instagram just before Christmas.
The fire on February 11 is understood to have been put out in less than an hour with reports stating it was confined to the garage in his home which contained his prized car.
The actor and his wife Keely flew out to their property in Hawaii in the aftermath of the fire.
He took to social media earlier this week to thank the public for the flood of good wishes he had received in the wake of the fire.
"Thank you one and all for your kind wishes for my family and I. All is good. Love life. Always onwards," he said.
The former Bond star has a string of films scheduled for release this year, including the thriller No Escape which tells the story of a businessman trapped with his family in a war zone area which co-stars Owen Wilson and Lake Bell.
He also spent months on location in Australia starring as King Louis XIV's in the fantasy movie The Moon and the Sun opposite William Hurt.
