AN allergy specialist has warned that airlines are putting lives at risk by failing to cater for the needs of passengers with nut allergies.
Dr Jane Lucas, a respiratory and allergy specialist at Southampton General Hospital, said flights were a particular danger to sufferers due to inconsistent information provided by companies.
She spoke out after a study, published in the journal Clinical and Translational Allergy, which looked at the experiences of 32 patients with a nut or peanut allergy and how they coped with travel.
Abortion ship in Muslim port
MOROCCAN authorities say that a Dutch ship promoting legal abortions set to dock in Morocco is operating outside the law.
The Women on Waves ship, which promotes safe and legal abortions worldwide, was invited by a Moroccan women's group to raise awareness to legalise abortions in the Muslim country.
It is scheduled to arrive at the port of Smir today.
It would be the first time the ship has made landfall in a Muslim nation.
