Fifth man charged over attack on David

A FIFTH man has been charged by Sydney police in connection with the brutal attack in Australia that left a young Irishman brain-damaged.

David Keohane (30) was so badly beaten in August 2008 that police had difficulty in identifying him, such was the horrific damage to his face and skull.

Pala Ahomana Naa (26) was refused bail by a Sydney magistrate after being charged with attempting to conceal a serious indictable offence and with hindering a police investigation.

Naa was arrested last Saturday by Sydney police as part of their ongoing investigation into the attack.

Earlier this month, Kane Tupuolamoui (21) was formally charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm to the Cork-born flooring contractor.

Another man, Thomas Isaako (20), was jailed for 14 years last May for the attack.

Tupuolamoui, from New Zealand, was extradited to Sydney after he was arrested in Darwin.
