Ferry firm revenue up

FERRY and freight services firm Irish Continental Group (ICG) recorded a 4.6pc jump in third-quarter revenue compared to last year, to €84.9m However, the company behind Irish Ferries saw earnings decline in the period and said that full-year earnings will also be down.

ICG's operating profit for the three months to the end of September amounted to €18.5m, down from €19m for the same period last year.

But for the first nine months of the year, revenue was up from €203.6m to €211.5m.
