Fears grow for German tourist who's been missing for a week

FEARS were growing today for a young female tourist who has been missing for over a week.

German woman Stephanie Glosse was last seen on March 30 -- with gardai admitting that there are "serious concerns" for her safety.

The 22-year-old arrived in Dublin airport last Friday and is believed to have been staying in the Ennistymon area in Co Clare.

Investigating officers believe she may have also spent time in Dublin and are appealing for the public's assistance.

Sources told the Herald that parts of Co Clare are currently being searched.

A source explained:"There is a large amount of mystery surrounding this woman's disappearance.

"Her family are extremely concerned for her safety as they have not heard from her since she came to Ireland.

"There have been no reports of any local sightings yet.

"It is also thought that she spent time in Dublin," the source added.

Her devastated family say she made no contact with them and fears were growing this weekend for her safety.

She was staying in the general West Clare area with gardai trying to establish if she arrived in Ireland alone.

Gardai say she arrived at Dublin airport at about 9.30pm on Friday March 30.

The young woman is described as 5ft 11ins tall with brown hair, brown eyes and she wears glasses.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Ennistymon Garda Station on 065 707 2180.
