Fear for Stokes' pregnant partner as gang hit house

THE pregnant girlfriend of Celtic star Anthony Stokes was left shaken after their home was attacked by a gang of thugs.

Terrified Debbie Lawlor (24) -- who is heavily pregnant -- was forced to flee her luxurious Scottish home after their window was smashed in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The plush vehicle of Anthony Stokes (23) -- who was away on club duty at the time -- was also vandalised.

It is the second time in less than a year that the Dubliner's West Lothian home has been targeted.

And Scottish police are investigating whether the damage was caused by rival Rangers fans.

Neighbours revealed how shouting could be heard in the early hours of Saturday morning while Debbie was in the house.

It is understood that the couple are now considering leaving the property, given that Debbie is heavily pregnant with their first child.

A spokesperson for Celtic Football Club expressed his alarm at the incident.

"Clearly this is very concerning on the back of last year's events involving both Anthony and manager Neil Lennon.

"We now hope the police deal with this matter very seriously."

The soccer ace was in Inverness gearing up for his side's league match against Inverness Caledonian Thistle at the time of his girlfriend's ordeal.

He received a frantic phonecall from his upset girlfriend revealing the damage to the €480,000 property.
