SHE lasted 16 days in the I'm A Celebrity . . . jungle, and now that she is out Nadia Forde has hit back at nasty comments about her shape.

The gorgeous Dubliner was branded a plus-size model by outspoken columnist Katie Hopkins and was the subject of other online comments about her weight.

But the 25-year-old said she wastes no time worrying about such abuse.

"I haven't seen the comments and quite frankly I don't care. It's my body and I'm a woman," she said.

"I'm a curvy girl. I have Latin blood. That's the bottom line, excuse the pun.

"I'm not going to let my body become a battle ground for people to fight about what a woman should look like."

Life in the Australian jungle was no holiday for the model-turned-singer.

"It was so much tougher than I expected, but it was the most fun and one of the best experiences I've ever had," she said.

Nadia was forced to lie in a darkened tomb with rats as part of one of the show's grisly challenges.

"At one stage I could even feel two rats having sex on my face. It was a crazy situation," she said.

The brunette caused a stir by wearing a range of bikinis on the show, but she admitted she wasn't thinking about the cameras at the time.

"People don't realise it's not a joke in there. You have to bathe in dirty rivers and it's all about basic survival. It's not glamorous," she said.

"It's not a fashion shoot, that's for sure, and when you're having a shower you're not even thinking about what you look like. You just want to be clean."

Nadia is now enjoying the Australian summer in more luxurious surroundings with her pal Debbie O'Leary, who is engaged to former Ireland rugby player Peter Stringer.

Model Debbie flew out to cheer Nadia on as she battled it out with other celeb contestants.

Christmas will provide some much needed down time for jet-setting Nadia as she plans to spend it in Dublin with her family.
