Family fear for missing Tom (81)

GARDAI are seeking information about pensioner Tom Kennedy, who has been missing from Finglas since Tuesday night.

The 81-year-old grandfather, who was last seen outside his house in Virginia Park, did not take his phone with him. His family said he had no plans to meet anyone, and it is out of character for him not to return home.

Mr Kennedy is described as between 5ft 3in and 5ft 4in and of slim build. He was wearing dark trousers, black shoes and a white polo shirt with blue stripes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Finglas garda station on 01 6667500.

Ali gloves may fetch $300,000

THE gloves Muhammad Ali wore in his 1971 "Fight of the Century" with Joe Frazier are expected to fetch $300,000 (€224,000) at auction.

Heritage Auctions of Cleveland, Ohio, previously sold the gloves Ali wore to claim his first world championship in 1964 for $836,500.

The Fight of the Century, in New York's Madison Square Garden, was the first of three matches between Ali and Frazier during the 1970s.

Ali lost the first but prevailed in a re-match in 1974 and a third known as "The Thrilla in Manilla" in 1975.
