Actress and author Claudia Carroll has promised Fair City viewers the best is yet to come, with explosive scenes set to send fans reeling on Christmas Day.
From Niamh's plot to destroy her cheating husband Paul, to Dermot and Jane revealing their true feelings for each other, there is plenty of drama to keep viewers hooked.
Claudia, who plays Paul's former flame Nicola Prendergast, believes the new episodes are the best the show has ever produced over its 27 years on air.
"The Christmas episodes are the best episodes I think I have ever seen of Fair City. I think people are going to be glued to the TV. It's really explosive stuff," she told the Herald.
It comes after the show enjoyed its highest ratings for 2016 at the beginning of the year as viewers were hooked to the sordid storyline of Heather drugging her young daughter Ellie.
Fans were left shocked on New Year's Eve when Heather gave her daughter sleeping tablets so she couldn't stay awake for the countdown and steal her spotlight.
In the Christmas episodes, viewers will see Dermot continue to help Niamh in her scheme to bankrupt Paul.
He is also distracted by his feelings for Jane who arrives at his place for Christmas and cooks dinner with his son, Ben.
Dermot insists she stays and eats with them and as he brings her to the door later, he leans in to kiss her.
