Euro factories suffer

EUROZONE manufacturers experienced another bad month in April, the latest business survey showed.

As a sign of the deepening crisis, factory activity in Europe's largest economy, Germany, fell for the second month.

France, Italy and Spain – the eurozone's second, third and fourth-largest economies – all saw continued contractions in manufacturing activity.

"There is nothing here to suggest that manufacturing will turn the corner and stabilise any time soon," said Chris Williamson, chief economist at survey collator Markit.
