EU technicians deal

NEW accounting agreement brokered by the Government has opened the door for qualified technicians across the EU.

Accounting Technicians Ireland president Peter Johnson FCA said that the political agreement with the European Parliament will allow professional qualifications to be recognised across the EU.

Mr Johnson said that accounting professionals now have the opportunity to ply their trade across Europe.

"Qualified accounting technicians already have very high employment rates in Ireland and this agreement will strengthen their hand as they will now be able to have their qualifications recognised across Europe," he said.
