ABU DHABI airline Etihad has increased its stake in Aer Lingus to over 4pc.
A filing with the Irish Stock Exchange shows the airline passed the threshold on March 13 and notified the market of the change on St Patrick's Day.
It was the second time in recent weeks that the carrier has increased its stake.
It passed the 3pc threshold on February 28.
It now owns 21.95 million shares, with its stake at 4.11pc.
Etihad chief financial officer James Rigney told the press last week that the airline had already recouped its entire investment in Aer Lingus and said that "everything we receive going forward is incremental" for the Abu Dhabi airline.
