Enda's wife comes up trumps in FG draw

Taoiseach Enda Kenny had a disastrous 2014, but his wife's luck is better as she won a Christmas hamper in the Fine Gael raffle.

Junior minister Simon Harris also got a Christmas bonus, as he won €1,000 in the party's national draw.

The takings from the Christmas fundraiser are believed to have been substantially down this year.

In Mayo, the Taoiseach's wife (inset) was one of seven hamper winners.

Fionnuala Kenny won the hamper with lucky ticket number MO96/9506.

But the Taoiseach doesn't have to take it home in his car, as all hampers will be delivered by courier to prize winners' addresses before Christmas.

The first prize was €20,000, with another 14 prizes from €10,000 to €1,000 and a batch of smaller cash prizes and hampers in every constituency.
