EIB inks €325m loans

THE European Investment Bank has inked deals to provide loans worth €325m in ESB and UCD.

In addition, the Luxembourg-based bank said that it would make several million euro available for small businesses through AIB and Bank of Ireland.

The €235m loan to the ESB will provide 50pc of the funding to deliver smarter and more sustainable electricity network infrastructure over the next two years.

And a €90m loan to UCD's Belfield Campus will develop six buildings including the second phase of the Science Centre, a new School of Law, and construction of student accommodation.
