Dubs fans prepare for a double delight

IT WON'T be the most recession-friendly way to spend next week, but for Dubs fans it could be double delight.

The county's swashbuckling hurlers and footballers will line out just seven days apart for the National League finals.

The Easter Weekend and May Day bank holiday weekend have been selected for the two finals -- the last matches before both sides start their All- Ireland campaigns.

Dublin's footballers will be getting the action under way on Sunday when they go head to head with Cork in the NFL Division 1 decider.

And last night, GAA officials confirmed that the NHL Division 1 final between Dublin and Kilkenny is set for May 1 at GAA HQ.

The hurling final was initially expected to be played in Semple Stadium in Thurles, where it was held last year, but the capital has been victorious in its bid to raise the profile of the sport, with Croke Park playing host to both of the crucial games kicking off next week.
