Dubliner Roisin fired from Apprentice

DUBLIN UK Apprentice hopeful Roisin Hogan has been booted off the business reality show.

The former accountant was a strong contender for the finals after she made the last four.

Roisin (33) developed a low carbohydrate ready meal, based on noodles made from vegetable fibre, but Sugar and his advisors were not keen on the product.

Sugar told Roisin "You're fired" along with Solomon Akhtar and Daniel Lassman last night.

Roisin, who comes from Sandymount and is married to Darragh O'Dea, said that she was getting to grips with the reality of being fired.

"It's definitely bittersweet," she says. "It's been such a great and crazy journey.

"It was a really hard way to go but at the same time it was the right way for me to go, especially for me and my business.

"I don't think Sugar and I were the right match."

INTERVIEW

Roisin made the infamous 'interview' episode, having made it to the final five from a group of 20 candidates, all vying to become Sugar's business partner and win a £250,000 investment in their burgeoning business.

"I was working in a big global accounting firm and I loved it," Roisin said.

"But I actually gave up smoking for new year and that totally changed the direction of my life and my career.

"I became really interested in food and health and nutrition, and that's where I came up with the idea for my product. It's called Nudels by Roisin.

"And I've taken Lord Sugar's advice on board, and his advisers' advice on board and I've scaled back my ambition somewhat," she added.

"And I've partnered with an industry expert and we are going to bring the product to market hopefully in early 2015."

Australian digital marketing salesman Mark Wright and Bianca Miller, who wants to launch a range of tights for all skin colours, will now battle it out in the final, due to air on BBC One this Sunday.
