Dubliner arrested over Costa killing

A DUBLIN man has been arrested over the killing of a British man on the Costa del Sol in Spain.

The 29-year-old was detained on a European arrest warrant in Germany.

He was identified as a suspect by Spanish police after Londoner Paul Feathers (32) was stabbed to death in front of his girlfriend on April 21, 2010.

Previously, another 37-year-old man, also from Dublin, was arrested on May 7, 2011, in the Algarve.

Mr Feathers was attacked after getting into an argument with two men whom he let into his flat in Benalmadena, Spain.

One of the assailants stabbed him with a knife which he took from the victim's kitchen drawer during a tussle between the three men.

Mr Feathers' girlfriend, Sarah Archer, allegedly identified the two Irishmen as the killers before moving back to the UK.

The 29-year-old Irishman is understood to have been arrested on May 24, but Spanish police only went public at the weekend.

He will appear at a court in Benalmadena after being extradited from Germany.
