Drunk knocked over stands in shop

A YOUNG woman began drunkenly knocking over shop stands when confronted by staff for allegedly trying to conceal goods in her handbag, a court heard.

Natalie Grimes (20), was also caught shoplifting watches in a separate incident in Dublin city centre a month later.

Judge Michael Walsh put her on probation for a year at Dublin District Court.

Grimes, of Rutland Street Lower, pleaded guilty to public drunkenness and breach of the peace at Centra, Temple Bar at 10.45pm on September 6, 2013.

She became threatening and abusive to staff, knocking over stands in the shop.

In the other incident, at Miss Selfridge's, Jervis Street on October 3, 2013, she took two watches worth €56 and left without paying. She had no prior convictions.
