Drunk (35) thought he was aiding young lady

A FATHER-of-five who shouted abuse at gardai wrongly thought he was coming to the aid of a young lady, a court heard.

Eoin Parleti (35) had been attending a house party.

Judge David McHugh fined Parleti €70.

The defendant, of The Oaks, Belgard Heights in Tallaght, admitted before Blanchardstown District Court to public drunkenness and threatening and abusive behaviour.

Garda David Gibson said he was called to Liffey Green in Lucan on May 4, 2014 following reports a house party was getting out of control.

Gda Gibson said Parleti was drunk and verbally abusive to gardai as others were being arrested. He refused to leave.

Defence solicitor Fiona Brennan said Parleti was very embarrassed about his behaviour.
