Drugs attack boy walks free

A TEENAGER has been spared jail after mugging a man for drugs he had bought in a Dublin city centre head shop.

The young man was told he would be stabbed when youths surrounded him and tried to take his legal highs, the Dublin Children's Court was told.

The 17-year-old had pleaded guilty earlier to attempted robbery of the man (20), at Trinity Street, Dublin 2, on April 28.

Yesterday Judge Aingeal Ni Chonduin imposed a 12-month probation bond on the boy.

One of his co-defendants had been detained previously by the court.
