Donnybrook profits fall

Pre-tax profits at upmarket Dublin grocer Donnybrook Fair fell 20pc in its last financial year to €607,000 as turnover remained flat at €23m, newly-filed accounts for the business show.

The chain - a bastion for Dublin's southside gourmands - is also planning to open its first outlet on the capital's northside later this year.

The directors of the business, including founder Joe Doyle, acknowledged that 2013 was "undoubtedly a challenging year" for the retail sector.
