ACTRESS Daryl Hannah has been arrested with a 78-year-old great-granny for trespass as they protested against an oil pipeline.
Hannah (51) and landowner Eleanor Fairchild were standing in front of equipment yesterday in an attempt to halt construction of the Keystone XL pipeline on Fairchild's farm in Dallas, Texas.
The actress has long been opposed to TransCanada's construction of the $7bn (¤5bn) line, which is designed to transport crude oil from Alberta, Canada, to Texas' Gulf Coast refineries.
She was also arrested in 2010 as she rallied against the same cause.
"It is unfortunate Ms Hannah and other out-of-state activists have chosen to break the law by illegally trespassing on private property," said David Dodson, a spokesman for TransCanada. He also said protesters were putting their own safety and the safety of others at risk.
Hannah -- who has starred in dozens of movies, including Kill Bill and Splash -- was also arrested in August 2011 while protesting the construction in Washington.
