the weekend outlook is sunny for TG4 weatherman Daithi O Se, as he's set to receive a top award in the coming days.
Beating off competition from All Ireland winners and a host of public figures, he's been named the Kerry Person of the Year 2010.
The current judge in RTE's All Ireland Talent Show will be presented with the award at Oiche Chiarrai, the Kerry Association in Dublin's 58th annual dinner in the Burlington Hotel on Saturday, March 13.
The Association's Cathaoirleach Kerry O'Donnell made the announcement at a reception in ESB head office in Dublin.
In her address, she said that Daithi is "a very worthy recipient" of the award and she looked forward to honouring him at Oiche Chiarrai.
Born west of Dingle in Feothanach, Daithi is the second-youngest of five children.
He attended national and secondary schools in west Kerry and achieved an honours degree in History and Gaeilge at University Limerick and qualified as a teacher.
Daithi joined TG4 more than 10 years ago and currently works as weatherman and continuity presenter. His other work includes judging on RTE's All Ireland Talent Show and presenting TV shows including Daithi ar Route 66, The Full Set, Coinne le and Feilte.
As a participant in Charity You're a Star, the monies raised by voting for Daithi went to his chosen charity Make A Wish Foundation.
The proceeds raised by the auction and raffle at Oiche Chiarrai will also be donated to Make a Wish Foundation at Daithi's request.
