Dad misses out on gifts as children treat mum

DADS are being seriously short-changed when it comes to Father's Day.

Children will spend an average of €18 on Father's Day this weekend – a whole 41pc less than the €32.50 they spent on Mother's Day, said a Debenhams Ireland study.

Sons are the most tight-fisted.

Only 27pc of them will buy a Father's Day present, compared with a more generous 56pc of daughters.
