A Dublin father-of-two who stole €3,000 in coins from a cash van has been given a five-year sentence for this and the robbery of a bookie's.
Michael Byrne (25), of Thornville Drive, Kilbarrack, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to stealing the cash at Main Street, Raheny, on March 26 last year.
Byrne, who has 77 previous convictions, also pleaded guilty to stealing €450 from Paddy Power in Greendale Shopping Centre, Kilbarrack, on April 25 last year.
