Crime North North City: Drug dealing at IDA building in Gardiner Street
The restriction has been placed on gardai, who have completed a one-day driving assessment course at the Garda College in Templemore
RESIDENTS are concerned about drug dealing at the derelict IDA building on Gardiner Street.
"It's constant, day and night. Residents are up in arms about it," local councillor Gary Gannon said.
Local gardai and Dublin City Council are working to combat the problem which has been ongoing for some time now.
"There is also a lot of anti-social behaviour there," Mr Gannon added.
Ormond Quay: Gardai target car thieves
A NEW garda initiative is targeting car break-ins and drug injecting in the Ormond Square area.
The operation, being run out of Brideswell Garda Station, has been deemed "a great success" by local Independent councillor Mannix Flynn.
"The area around there and around the Four Courts has had ongoing problems with anti-social behaviour related to drug use," Mr Flynn said.
Phibsboro: Locals concern at begging
RESIDENTS in Phibsboro have complained of begging in their area.
Extensive surveys were carried out in the north central division by gardai for the first time in recent months.
Begging was most problematic in this area, according to locals.
Anti-social behaviour is also a problem they said.
A new "customer oriented" garda approach is now being rolled out.
North Wall: Drug problem 'off the scale'
Anti-social behaviour and drug use is forcing people in the North Wall area to send their children to school in other parts of the city, a recent JPC committee heard.
A community representative reported "constant" and "off the scale" anti-social behaviour and sale of drugs in the area.
Incidents in recent weeks included a car being burned out near a community centre.
