A YOUNG man charged with two counts of sexually assaulting a female relative has been sent for trial.
The 20-year-old man allegedly sexually assaulted the woman at his Dublin home between April and November 2011.
He is facing trial by jury in the Circuit Court where the possible penalties are more serious, after the DPP ruled the matters were too serious for the District Court.
The accused, with an address in west Dublin, appeared before Blanchardstown District Court charged with two counts of sexual assault.
Judge David McHugh told the accused he had 14 days to provide details of anyone he proposed to call as a witness in his defence.
Defence solicitor Thomasina Connell and one junior counsel were assigned on legal aid.
